We had told my son that since he had done a great job reading and participating at the track meet that we would go out for icecream on Sunday. So we headed to our favorite local ice cream parlor for a real treat! It is an SOS, Superior Oversized Sundae. It has seven scoops of icecream, hot fudge, marshmallow and strawberry sauce, bananas, whip cream, nuts, cherries and of course an umbrella. They had a difficult time waiting for their icecream, so Mom took pictures!

They were so excited when they saw the SOS appear on the counter! Again they had to wait for our waitress to deliver it. The ice cream parlor was very busy.

And then once it was delivered, Mom made them wait while she took pictures. It was torture!

When they finally were let go, they went to town! My children are just like their father, they love icecream! They would rather have icecream then any other dessert. My DH wants it for dinner sometimes, which is what we did tonight! I figure with the bananas and the milk in the icecream there is some nutritional value?

My son is so proud of himself, and satisfied too! But that wouldn't stop him!

They kept eating and eating, DH and I helped too.

They cleaned up that icecream in no time. They probably would have licked the dish if we would have let them, but thank goodness we have taught them some manners!

We enjoyed our icecream and the beautiful day. Our school had their annual carnival and the kids got to enjoy all the games and events of the day. The icecream was the perfect ending to a great weekend!

oh my gosh! That is the best looking ice cream dish I have seen in my life. I'm on my way to claim my own!
I can't believe they ate the whooooole thing! I must say it must have taken a long time to take those first pictures after they delivered it - so much melting it looked like lava. I'm so glad he got to enjoy his reward and will receive more for sharing it so nicely with little sis! (...and mom & dad.)
SOS! A lasting memory for sure. I haven't read down to see the other posts yet so it sounds like he did great. Love their faces - nothing else in the world matters and that makes for a great childhood.
