Disneyland Day 1

We got to Disneyland around 3:00pm in the afternoon. The kids were excited about going and seeing Disneyland for the first time. We decided to start our visit with a ride on the Disneyland Express. This is the train that goes all the way around the park, with stops in each different land. We got to see many things that we were anxious to check out. Next we rode the Monorail to see if we could get another perspective of the park.

We got off in Tomorrowland. This is where we would end up spending most of our time. We rode the Autotropolis Cars. The line was long and we were surprised at how warm it was. My son was not to happy about driving but his sister was a different story. She was ready to drive!

We next went and watched a interactive show about the home of the future. This was interesting. The kids loved the Peter Pan room. The kitchen and the dining room table were so full of technology that it was mind blowing.

We grabbed a quick bite to eat in Tomorrowland. A not so great hamburger and chicken sandwich, but the drinks tasted very good for the warm day. We also were able to find were the Jedi Training Academy was and what show times were. My son could not wait for the next day.

We were all pretty tired after traveling and celebrating a busy Easter the day before. So we went and found a place to watch the parade, before calling it a day. We found what turned out to be a great spot, right in front of where Mickey and Minnie stopped! We enjoyed the spectacular show that was put on. We walked back to our hotel with great expectations of the days to come!

A Weekend Refresher

After a few strenuous weeks and the depressing reality of our future, we took off for a weekend getaway. While we had windy, cloudy, rainy and cold weather most of the weekend, we had moments of wonderful weather as well. The blessing in the bad weather is that we spent time inside as a family playing games, reading books and having fun as a family. It was just what the doctor ordered! Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

We found this rock at Montana de Oro, it symbolized the love of family we were feeling this weekend!
Playing in the sand, with all the sand toys was a priority for the kids. We did not think this would be possible, but because of the protected cove at Montana de Oro, we had a good time at the beach.
My son loves to put things in rows. He will line up all his toy figurines, his cars, his shoes whatever catches his fancy at the time. Today it was all the digging toys!

What a cutie!

Playing the air guitar at the beach, who would have thought?

An absolutely beautiful sunset on Sunday!

The day was perfect on Monday when it was time to go home! It never fails to be that way whenever we are at the beach! This park has a pirate ship and other nautical things that the kids always enjoy playing on. They had fun being pirates today!

I love this picture. In the back ground are two favorite landmarks that the kids get so excited to see. They both try to be the first one to see them on the trip over. The kids have even named the smoke stacks and of course they love Morro Rock!
What a blessing it was to go and enjoy the big big beach with my family.

Those Rotten Scondrels

Those dirty rotten little scondrels! When we got home form having a fantastic weekend, I was looking forward to seeing my sweet little children. It is not often that we leave our children. In fact I think that to date I have been away from them only overnight twice. So I was really looking forward to having them run and great me at the door and tell me how much they missed me. My daughter will say "Mommy I really missed you!" when I go to the grocery store for 30 minutes. I really expected to see them come running to me as soon as I walked in the door. What a surprise we got when we walked in the door. The children were no where to be found and this is how we found Grandma......

She had been tied up and gagged! When we got her untied she said she had been in that state for over a half hour. Luckly she was okay and we were able to locate the children upstairs watching movies and stuffing themselves with candy!

I guess we have learned our lesson. When we were leaving my husband told the kids "Don't tie Grandma up and put her in the closet while were gone." I chimed in and said "Well just don't put her in the closet."
We really have to give Grandma credit. She not only watched our two, but also my sister's three girls for the weekend. The kids all had a good time and Grandma even said she did too. She just didn't say when she would do it again!

A Fabulous Weekend

This is the great resturant that we went to this weekend. It is called Farallon and it is Union Square in San Francisco. The decore is an underwater theme and the star is the lights that look like giant jellyfish. It is quite beautiful.

The food was out of this world. We had four different courses and then dessert. This was one of my favorites; Seared Maine Diver Scallop - paprika braised octopus, haricots verts, garlic vinaigrette. Each course got better and better.

The wine was paired so well to each course. We went from Italy, to Spain, to France and to California. It was so much fun.
I will be posting more on this great weekend. I am in the process of getting blogging permission to post more pictures.
