Walking

Well today was one week of actually walking everyday. Since it was the weekend, we went out again as a family and walked. The kids rode their bikes while the DH and I walked. The only problem is that he discovered a new route while he has been out walking this week. I was expecting the nice walk that we had last Saturday. But oh no, this one was 3 Miles long!

So, while I was walking every morning on the tread mill, he has been out planning on how to torture me! I have only been walking a mile and half on the treadmill and at a comfortable pace. The route we took left me no escape route, I had to finish it. I am sure the people driving by thought "Oh look at the poor Mom, she is so out of shape, the kids and the Dad are leaving her in the dust." So I tried to at least stay up with them, but it didn't always work.

Tomorrow will be a critical day. If I can force myself to walk, if I'm not too sore, then it will be conquering a hurdle. The problem is tomorrow is Sunday so we have to go to church and then we have a birthday and a graduation party to attend out of town. If I don't force myself to get up early, then I don't think I will get it in. If I don't walk tomorrow, then it will be even harder to do it on Monday, and then failure will be in the future.

Oh Lord, please help me get up early and not be too sore!

Well, did you make it? You know, on occasion, just come on over and wake me up! I'll go with you, I could use the inspiration.

The kids will have fond memories of leaving you in the dust. For a while, they'll probably really enjoy it - they're faster than you! Enjoy the memories! ;)
