A Sunday Outing
On Sunday we went on a fun family outing with a purpose, to close Papa's Cabin.
We headed up early in the morning to enjoy one last day at the cabin.
The kids enjoyed spending time with Papa and running around the woods.
We enjoyed walking down the dirt roads to and from the cabin.
With the purpose of finding rocks and sticks with moss on them.

I had to run to the store to get a few things after mass tonight. It was just my son and I in the store and it was past dinner time. So of course the entire time we are in the store, he is finding lots of things that we did not need, but with a six year old this is not unusual.
We were almost done when my son says to me, "Mommy that boy has a mother just like you." I thought this was an interesting comment so I turn to look at the boy and his mother who are across the aisle from us. There was a woman who was probably at least 15 years younger than me who is tall, thin and blonde. This of course is not how someone would describe me! So I ask him, "Oh, he has a nice mother too?" What else could the comparison be?
"Uh uh, he has a mother who says "No" to everything too."

A day at Preschool
I had a good time hanging out at my daughter's preschool on Monday. When you spend time with the kids you start to see into their individual personalities. I enjoyed taking pictures of them as they played out in the playground. It is funny how some kids will stop and pose for you and others purposefully will not look at you! Out of all the pictures I took, these are some of my favorites.

October 15th National Day of Rememberance

October 15th is the National Day of Remembrance for pregnancy and infant loss. This includes all babies who have died because of miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or any other infant death. I did not know this, but Angie at Bring the Rain has a wonderful post about it. This is dear to our heart this year as we lost our little Elizabeth on April 14th. This has been a very painful loss for her family as well as her extended family. The pain of losing any child, no matter how little they are, is real and is difficult to get over.
The loss of Elizabeth made me think about other losses we have had in our family. My mother lost a child between my older sister and my older brother. Until losing Elizabeth, I never thought about this miscarriage. But this was one of my siblings, who is now in heaven and is rejoicing with my Mother. My oldest brother and his wife lost a child between my niece and nephew and my older sister also lost her first child early on in the pregnancy. These are all little angels in heaven waiting for us to join them.
I ask the Lord to give you all comfort today, as we pray for your loss. May your little ones be sitting with Jesus, interceding on our behalf!

Go Sarah!
Here is a great speech given by Governor Sarah Palin on the sanctity for life. This is a must read and there is also a video feed as well! Way to go Sarah!
I have to give kudos to Let the Little Ones Come, as that is where I found the link for this.

Happy Birthday Baby!
My sweet little girl is celebrating her 4th birthday today! The first thing she said this morning when she woke up to her daddy and mommy singing to her was, "Lets' go watch the news!" No, she isn't that into the news, she wanted to see her picture on the local news birthday wishes. It was the start to a day full of lots of fun things! Oh how four years have sped by.
